Billy Peltzer is given a small creature called a Mogwai for Christmas. It's a huge responsibility looking after Gizmo as there are certain rules which must be followed. The Mogwai must be kept away from bright light, never made wet and never, ever be fed after midnight. When an accident occurs involving Gizmo and water, it unleashes a horde of malevolently mischievous monsters onto a small, unsuspecting town.

Gremlins is a 1984 American comedy horror film directed by Joe Dante and written by Chris Columbus. It draws on legends of folkloric mischievous creatures that cause malfunctions "gremlins" in the British Royal Air Force going back to World War II. The film stars Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, Polly Holliday, and Frances Lee McCain.
